Matrix Norwest – October 2021 Bulletin

A message from our partners

‘We are in this together – and we will get through this, together.’
– UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres

It has been a challenging few months for so many of us who have been affected by the lockdown and ever-changing restrictions. But as they say, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and yes, we are nearing the end and emerging safe, well and grateful.

We are looking forward to our team returning to the office shortly and welcoming you back in to visit us before Christmas.

Best Regards,

Matthew Stevenson, Rob Pedersen, Alison Stevenson and Lachlan Sue

Tax Adviser of the Year Finalist
ALISON STEVENSON

We are so proud to announce that one of our very own has been selected as a finalist for The Tax Adviser of the Year as part of The Tax Summit 2021 in the RESPECT category.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Alison has tirelessly guided our tax team in its efforts to assist our clients in navigating through this unprecedented time.  She has been the linchpin to many businesses and households in their efforts to work through this pandemic and this recognition could not be more deserved.

Meet our Team
HANNA SIMON

Hanna joined our team in January 2021 as a Business Service Manager in our Taxation team. She brings with her 17 years of significant industry experience as a Chartered Accountant.

Hanna looks forward to working with you and assisting you in all facets of accounting.

Congratulations

We would like to welcome Lachlan Sue to our Advice Team. He has recently been appointed as an Authorised Representative and now sits across both our taxation and financial advice clients. What a great achievement!

Another congratulations is due for Adem Kozar who completed the FASEA Exam and a course in Ethics & Professionalism in Financial Advice during the course of the year.

Our clients are in great hands with these exceptional and upstanding advisers.

The new world of Income Protection

Our future earning ability is our most important asset and it is arguably, more important to protect this than insuring our home. Income protection insurance is an essential tool to partially replace our income in the event of serious illness or injury that renders us unable to work, and annual premiums are tax-deductible.

It is important to be aware of sweeping changes to income protection policies, some of which are already in place.  We have summarised the major changes here

COVID Business Support

A special mention must also be given to the Matrix Norwest taxation team who have worked tirelessly throughout this most recent lock down to continue to provide support to households and businesses who have needed it most.  Thank you must also go out to the affected clients who have maintained composure and patience as we have collaboratively worked our way through the challenging stimulus framework.

Despite seeing what looks to be the end of the harshest period of lockdowns, stimulus continues to be available for affected businesses and individuals.  We continue to be a trusted partner to you, your family and your business when looking for guidance and advice in this space.
